This website
This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies: no external fonts, scripts, images or third-party analytics. The online demo runs entirely in your browser on sample data and reads nothing from your computer.
Visit statistics. To learn how the site is used, our own server counts page views and a few clicks: the Buy, demo, FAQ and source links, and which features you try in the demo. With each, it stores the page, the referring website, the campaign tag in the link (if any), your browser, operating system, device type and language. To count visitors without cookies, it stores a hash of your IP address and browser combined with a random value that changes every day. Your IP address itself isn't stored, the hash can't be turned back into it, and the daily values are deleted, so you can't be recognized from one day to the next. These statistics stay on our server, are never shared or sold, and are deleted after 400 days.
Server logs. Like any web server, ours records each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser's user agent. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, and delete them after 7 days. The server is hosted by STRATO in Germany.
Download codes
If you redeem a download code, we check it against stored fingerprints of valid codes, and count attempts per visitor (using the same daily hash) to stop guessing. We don't store the codes you enter.
Buying NetLeash
The Buy buttons take you to a checkout page run by Stripe, where Link, Stripe's checkout service, sells NetLeash as merchant of record. Stripe and Link collect and process your payment and billing details under their own privacy policies (Stripe, Link). We never see your card details. When your payment is confirmed, we keep a record of the purchase: your email address, the amount, and the order reference from Stripe. We use it only to give you your download code and to help with questions, lost codes and refunds.
The NetLeash program
NetLeash runs only on your PC. It sends no data to us or anyone else, and it contains no telemetry. Its rules, history and log stay on your PC. The installer connects to GitHub, Inc. once to download the WinDivert driver, and only if you choose to install it. GitHub then sees your IP address.
If you write to us, we use your message and address only to reply, and delete them when they're no longer needed.
We don't sell your data
We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, and we don't use it for anything beyond the purposes above.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to the address above. If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, the GDPR also gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and you may complain to your data protection authority. Our legal bases are our legitimate interest in running a secure website (server logs), and performing our contract with you (purchases and support).
